Codex Appoints a CEO
Owner Brendan Murphy announces a change in leadership as Codex looks to focus on expanding its unique business offering and online platform.
Codex founder Brendan Murphy announced to staff today that current Chief Executive Siobhan O’Connor is to step aside from the day to day running of the business from the 29th of March 2019 and that current Director of Operations Patrick Murphy will succeed her in the role.
Siobhan, who joined the business in 2014, will take on an Ambassadorial business development role for a transitional period to seek out potential opportunities for Codex in the Irish marketplace.
In her time as Chief Executive, Siobhan oversaw the continued growth of Codex through the success of a number of high profile tenders, successfully expanded the Codex range of products and services and integrated a number of key acquisitions into the business. This success has been reflected through a number of prestigious industry awards and accolades.
Siobhan, who consistently drives for staff engagement and progression was also instrumental in Codex being awarded as one of the Great Places to work in Ireland three years running.
Patrick, who qualified with an MBA from the Smurfit Business School in 2014 comes to the role with over ten years’ experience within the business. He will look to build on the success of his family business that has grown over the last 40 years to be the market leader in office supplies across Ireland.
The appointment of Patrick as CEO comes as a number of new and exciting developments are underway within the business, including the launch of a new online offering and the Codex.ie rebrand which will hit the market later this quarter. This and other strategic initiatives that will emerge throughout the year, will bring a unique offering to the Irish market and allow Codex to continue its ambitious growth in the coming years.
